First of all, polypropylene sheet is an environmentally friendly material
Second, the difference between polypropylene sheet and polyvinyl chloride;
1. Polypropylene sheets are hard to the touch, while PVC is relatively soft. The best way to test is to burn both materials with an open flame. PVC is a black dust, but polypropylene is not. It can also be distinguished from the odor that polyvinyl chloride has a choking odor, while polypropylene is odorless.
2. PVC and polypropylene have different monomers.
3. Recognition by combustion identification method: 1. Polypropylene is easy to burn, melt and drip. The burning flame state is yellow at the top and blue smoke at the bottom. After leaving the fire, it continues to burn and smells of oil.
2. Polyvinyl chloride is not easy to burn, melt and soften. The burning flame state is upper yellow and lower green, with smoke, fire and pungent sour smell.
3. Polypropylene sheet is a thermoplastic resin made of propylene polymerization. There are three configurations: isotactic, atactic and syndiotactic, and industrial products mainly use isotactic components. Polypropylene also includes copolymers of propylene and a small amount of ethylene. Usually translucent colorless solid, odorless and nontoxic. Due to its regular structure and high crystallinity, the melting point is as high as 167, heat-resistant, and the product can be steam sterilized. With a density of 0.90 g/cm3, it is the lightest common plastic. Corrosion resistance, tensile resistance of 30 MPa, strength, rigidity and transparency are superior to polyethylene. The disadvantage is poor low temperature impact resistance and easy aging, but it can be overcome by modification and addition of antioxidants.
4. Function:
1. It is non-toxic, tasteless, low density, strength, hardness and heat resistance are better than low pressure polyethylene, can be used at about 100 degrees. It has good electrical properties and high frequency insulation, and is not affected by humidity, but it becomes brittle, wear-resistant and easy to age at low temperatures. It is suitable for the manufacture of general mechanical parts, corrosion-resistant parts and insulating parts. Common acid-base organic solvents have little effect on it and can be used for tableware.
2. Combustion characteristics: It is flammable and will continue to burn after leaving the fire. The upper end of the fire is yellow, the lower end is blue, and there is a small amount of black smoke. It dissolves and drips when burned, and emits a petroleum odor. The injection temperature was 190-240.
3. Polyvinyl chloride is one of the largest plastic products in the world. Inexpensive and versatile. Polyvinyl chloride resin is white or light yellow powder. According to different uses, different additives can be added, and PVC plastics can exhibit different physical and mechanical properties. Adding an appropriate amount of plasticizer to polyvinyl chloride resin can make various soft, hard and transparent products.
4. The density of pure PVC is 1.4g/cm3, and the density of PVC plastic parts with plasticizers and fillers is generally 1.15-2.00g/cm3.
5. Rigid PVC is rare and has good tensile, bending, compression and impact resistance properties, so it can be used alone as a structural material.
6. The softness, elongation at break and cold resistance of soft PVC will increase, but the brittleness, hardness and tensile strength will decrease.
7. Polyvinyl chloride is relatively rare and has good electrical insulation properties, so it can be used as a low-frequency insulation material, and its chemical stability is also very good. Due to the poor thermal stability of polyvinyl chloride, long-term heating will cause decomposition, release hydrogen chloride gas, and discolor polyvinyl chloride, so its application range is narrow, and the application temperature is generally between 15-55 degrees.
8. PVC is difficult to burn, it goes out when it leaves the fire. However, when burning, the fire burns yellow at the upper end and green at the lower end, and has white smoke. When burned, the rubber compound is soft and emits a pungent odor of hydrochloric acid. PVC is less toxic, but there are also food grade PVC, which are hard and soft.
9. Divided into toxic and non-toxic. The hard plastic used in home life is basically polyvinyl chloride. Such as water pipes, wire sheathing, polypropylene. Plastic carbonated drink bottles are made of polypropylene and can withstand a little pressure. In addition, the bottom and lid of the toolbox are one piece and can be opened and closed repeatedly without hinges. This material must be polypropylene sheet.
