Photodegradable plastics
A material whose polymer chain breaks down in sequence under the influence of ultraviolet light. Most polymers do not absorb light energy above 285NM wavelength. However, if photosensitive groups or photosensitive chemical additives are added to the polymer, the process of photooxidation reaction can be accelerated and degradation can occur rapidly.
Biodegradable plastics
From the point of view of biodegradation process, it can be divided into two categories: completely biodegradable and biodegradable plastics. In terms of preparation method, it can be divided into four categories: biological fermentation synthesis, chemical synthesis, utilization of natural macromolecules or minerals of animals and plants.
Photooxidative/biodegradable plastics
It combines photodegradation, oxidative degradation and biodegradation to achieve complete degradation. It is one of the main research and development directions of degradable plastics in the world. This kind of plastic has achieved good results in the United States and is still one of the difficult research subjects in China.
Thermoplastic starch resin degrades plastics
The starch molecules change configuration and disorder, forming a thermoplastic starch resin, and then add a very small amount of plasticizer and other additives, is the so-called whole starch plastic. The content of starch is more than 90%, and a small amount of other substances added are non-toxic and can be completely degraded, so the whole starch is truly completely degraded plastics.
